The Annual Constitution Week Celebration, themed “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility,” was organised by the Fanteakwa North office of the National Commission for Civic Education.
The week was instituted to remember the country’s return to constitutional democratic rule. On April 28, 1992, Ghanaian electorates voted favorably in a referendum that adopted the draft fourth Republican Constitution.
Ghana’s development is not solely the duty of the government few individuals, but the collective effort of artisans, students, teachers, business owners, civil/public servants, policy makers, among others. It is worth noting that Ghana’s progress will come as citizens see themselves as nation-builders.
This can be achieved when citizens obey laws, protect public property, safeguard the environment, uphold justice and foster peaceful coexistence.
The office engaged some security services, organised bodies in the informal sector and identifiable groups in Begoro. Participants were commended for their role played under democratic principles during the Elections. Ghanaians should promote a culture of dialogue, understanding, and reconciliation.
