Popular actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has pledged to play a key role in ensuring the late TikTok star Elvis Frimpong, widely known as Osanju, receives a dignified farewell.

During a live TikTok session on Sunday, September 7, 2025, McBrown, who fondly referred to Osanju as her “boyfriend” , announced that she would fully support the funeral arrangements and work closely with the family.

The actress revealed that Osanju once shared his personal wishes with her, insisting that he did not want an extravagant funeral.

“This burial rite is centred around me because I am the widow,” she said. “Osanju told me when he was alive that he didn’t want a flashy or big funeral. I will make sure to honour his wishes and give him exactly what his heart desired.”

Support for Osanju’s Father

McBrown also stressed that the ceremony would not be a celebration but an occasion to support Osanju’s family, particularly his father, who is struggling financially after the recent passing of his wife.

“This is not a funeral for merry-making. Everyone attending should come with the mindset of helping the family. Osanju’s father is not financially strong, so people should not expect food or transport money,” she explained.

Osanju passed away on September 1, 2025, after a long fight with leukaemia, a condition he openly shared with his fans on social media. His passing shocked followers, especially since he had been seen as active just a day earlier, watching Barcelona’s game against Rayo Vallecano on August 31.

Earlier this year, he appeared on Nana Ama McBrown’s Onua Showtime program, where he spoke about his health struggles and life journey, inspiring many with his courage.

His death has left a big void in Ghana’s TikTok community, with fans and celebrities paying tribute to his memory.
