A 26-year-old fashion designer, Mabel Asantewaa, has tragically lost her life after being stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend in Kasoa.
The suspect, identified as Bra Sammy, a 28-year-old carpenter, reportedly spent the night with Mabel before the incident occurred in her room at Kalabule Chinese, near the Kasoa Tollbooth, in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
According to police reports, an argument broke out when the suspect allegedly demanded sex, but Mabel declined, explaining that she was menstruating. Enraged, he allegedly attacked her with a knife, stabbing her multiple times until she died.
After committing the crime, the suspect reportedly attempted to take his own life by ingesting a poisonous substance. He was rushed to the Amanfrom Polyclinic, where he is currently receiving medical care under strict police guard.
The Weija Divisional Police Command confirmed the arrest and assured the public that investigations are underway to ensure justice is served.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents expressing grief and outrage over the violent act.
