SikaTimes.com has sighted a viral TikTok video of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) First Vice Chairman, Chief Sofo Azorka, reacting to allegations that the Minority Leader of Parliament and MP for Awutu Senya West, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, stormed the NDC’s Nkwatia Party Office to destroy campaign posters of their candidate.
In the video, Chief Azorka initially expressed outrage over the claims, stressing that such an act would be provocative and dangerous. Using a figurative expression, he said that if the reports were true, it would be as though a “by-election” would be forced in Afenyo-Markin’s constituency — meaning his life could have been in danger.
However, when asked by a Channel One TV correspondent to confirm whether the incident actually took place, Chairman Azorka admitted that upon arriving at the party office, they were informed that no posters had been removed by Hon. Afenyo-Markin or his team.
“I come, they said he didn’t remove anything,” Azorka clarified, effectively debunking the viral claims.
The incident comes amid heightened political tension in the lead-up to the Akwatia By-Election, where both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are fiercely contesting for control of the parliamentary seat.
SikaTimes.com will continue to monitor the developments in Akwatia and bring readers verified updates and on-the-ground reports as the by-election approaches.
