Thursday 12th June, 25. Fanteakwa North District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education NCCE and Centre for National Culture CNC held an art exhibition using plastic waste. This programme was held at the forecourt of the District Assembly. Some department or institution staff, visitors in the Assembly, teachers and students and passersby observed the engagement.


Some students and pupils in school within Begoro made reused plastic bottle tops, sachet rubber, gallons, and others to make the artwork. The art for use portrays issues on sanitation, education, environment, tolerance and health.


Ms Cynthia Essel, NCCE District Director said, “The aim is to form a lasting change in children, young people, community and institutions to rethink plastic use. There are many solutions to plastic pollution. But this engagement is on the 3Rs, thus, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”
Mr George Darko-Asumadu, District Director, Centre for National Culture, told participants that Anyone can do something with his or her hands [DIY] to help curb the plastic waste menace in the country and the world at large.


Honourable Fanteakwa North District Chief Executive, Mr Osmanu Abubakar, took the opportunity to address students from invited schools on the occasion of World Environment Day Celebration Art Exhibition, at the forecourt of the District Assembly. He encouraged participants to serve as ambassadors of sanitation by educating their peers to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste into other uses to help improve sanitation.
